Loreal infallible is the best makeup on the drugstore market imo, but the shade range is so lame and small lol. if you're looking for versatility, those two suggestion above are nice too.

If I hired a makeup artist and they pulled out drug store make up I would be dissapointed. try looking into pro discounts from high end lines. tarte offers 30% to make up artists and hair stylists. so does stila, smashbox, mac, nars, and a bunch of other lines. also look into a foundation palette.

Yup, if you can get a pro discount it'd be helpful. MAC and MUFE give a 40% discount for pro artists and many other brands offer that type of discount.
If that's not doable at the moment then I'd suggest the L'orèal true match foundations.
I like the original liquid, you don't need EVERY single shade. Just be sure to get the lightest and darkest shade from each undertone(W, C and N) although you could skip the N line and just mix a W & C color since their N is just a mixture of yellow and pink.
If you can get the pro discount then I'd grab the studio fix fluid foundation and I quite like
cream foundation since the wax really helps smooth the skin and it less messy to mix shades.
I quite like the MAC Full Coverage cream foundation (you get a ton of product so it worth the price)
There's RCMA but they only sell the.5 oz now, I believe
The CoverFX total cover cream is good too and is a good vegan/cruelty free brand like RCMA.

I agree with Kelly, if I'd paid X amount of money to have my makeup done and the MUA pulled out a drugstore foundation, I wouldn't be too impressed.
I'm no MUA but Clarins do gorgeous foundations. My favourite is the skin illusion and everlasting matte lines. No7 also do lovely (inexpensive!) foundations. If you're wanting something a little more higher end, Es

*Estee Lauder do lovely foundations, as well as YSL and Urban Decay. Their Naked skin foundation is beautiful
