What sort of brush are you using? I like to use a more precise brush to contour so it deposits colour just where I need it.

The brush I use is a Sonia Kashuk angled face brush.

Personally I prefer something a bit smaller. I use a Nars Yachiyo brush, which is quite a small almost pointed brush, I find it fits into my cheekbones better and makes for a more natural contour.
At the moment I think the application looks a bit thick (if that makes sense) and I feel a more precise application (which you can then blend with a clean fluffy brush) would be more flattering.

Contouring's really tricky to get right. There are some fab tutorials on YouTube. Lisa Eldridge, Jordan Liberty and Charlotte Tilbury (Granted this is promoting her contouring palette but the technique information is quite useful) have some really good ones. All three are professional makeup artists too so the technique is more about looking natural rather than "instagram" contouring.

Just a bit, doll:) try doing it just a couple of inches in the hollows of your cheeks and blend with a blending brush so the lines aren't so harsh

Try a beauty blender for contouring, you don't want to look like there's contour on your face but rather, your cheeks just look that way.
