I think you would look good in reds and pinks (but I think anyone can pull them off) but you should just wear what you like and what you think looks good to you.

Maybe you could start with a darker version of your own lip color, which is very nice! Wear it for a couple of days - sometimes it takes time to get used to if you're not used to wearing it.

It really is a personal thing you have to experiment with. I have been told many times I look good in lipsticks I really don't think flatter me. we all had a certain look in our heads we want for ourselves and that plays into things

There's a maybelline matte lipstick called burgundy blush that is really nice, and milani has some dark but vivid colors.
