Neosporin works well and mederma is a scar cream that worked for my stretch marks but it can be used on any scar.

Thanks Diana. I was wondering about mederma, but I've never used it before.

Yes :D Kelo-Cote advanced formula scar gel. This stuff is amazing!! When my dog bit me, I left with a scar on my nose and I started using this gel and now you cannot even notice the scar. You can order it on amazon. It's not the cheapest, but believe me it works wonders. Hope this helps.

I have really deep scars from when I was really small and they are just barely fading. When I was little there weren't that many things out there to help with this and I just think it's so great there are so many things for scars nowadays!

One awesome drugstore option is Bio Oil. I did not have a lot of success with mederma, personally. My dermatologist also prescribed me retin-a, as it helps regenerate the skin cells faster but it is very drying and irritating. Whatever method you choose, I think the most important thing is consistency. If you use mederma or bio oil, apply 2x per day, every single day otherwise it won't have much of an impact. A prescription like retin-a will have its own directions, of course.

I have been using a Walgreens scar remover gel and it worked amazing it actually works better than when I tried mederma and it is WAY cheaper I would try that first then go to the expensive stuff.

I quite like using tretinoin in conjunction with a product like bio-oil
Most people think tretinoin is a chemical exfoliant but really, it works by speeding up your skins cell generation so it can really help with getting rid of scars and bio oil helps too plus it moisturizes a bit

Thank you all for your replies, it's very helpful!! I was told the other day by a nurse that after a surgery it's recommended to use vitamin e oil or bio oil as it helps break up the scar tissue as well as fading the scar. So I think I might try the bio oil. thanks girls!
