What are your holy grail foundations for dry skin? :)
I'm using the l'oreal true match lumi and was looking out for a new foundation.
My skin is constantly dry and dehydrated even though I drink a lot of water. So foundation juste seems to sink in my skin and disappear so fast. I do exfoliate, moisturize etc.so that the foundation doesn't cling to my dry patches but it just disappears after 4hours not even. I've tried a primer and it didn't seem to work that much either..

What's your budget?

I have SUUUPER dry skin and eczema so I totally feel yah. If you don't mind using more expensive makeup, I HIIIIGHLY recommend Too Faced Born This Way or Nars Luminous Weightless Foundation. They're both full coverage. Stay away from "matte" and "Oil free" and go more towards "dewy" or "moisturizing"!

And the primer I use is Too Faced Rx Hangover Primer is super hydrating

Well where I live everything is really expensive (Switzerland) but and this point I'm ready to buy anything really 😅

Brooke G: Born this way doesn't cling to your dry patches? I was reading reviews on that one and it clinging to dry patches did show up a couple of times

I recently switched to Josie Marans Vibrancy Foundation. So far I really like it. It's medium to full coverage and has a dewy finish. It doesn't cling to dry patches and was specifically formulated for people with eczema and skin problems. It's also natural and uses organic argan oil. The only downside is it has a funny smell but that doesn't matter to me too much cause it works.

Halie S: sadly I can't find that brand here..

I have dry skin too, just a suggestion, I use tinted moisturiser instead of foundation as foundation would make my skin even more dry! I agree with trying the nars foundation , it's good too.

The too faced born this way did stick to my dry patched a lot.

Use a tinted moisturiser or a bb cream. Have you use a facial oil? Sweet almond oil is good for dry skin.

It is super dewy! And I only powdered under my eyes and not in spots that were dry!

Do you have Dior where you live? Or Yves St Laurent (YSL)? Or Kevyn Aucoin? All of those are awesome for dry skin. Do you have CoverFX where you live? If so then you could just add it to your tinted moisturizer to make a foundation. Let me know if you have any of those brands and I'll keep trying for you!

Too Faced Born this Way is my lifesaver. I have normal to dry skin. I get really dry on my nose and forehead. This foundation is perfect for my skin. I love it so much. It doesn't dry out my skin and doesn't cake.. It basically "cured" my dry spots. I don't notice anymore dryness

Brooke G: Omg I just love that finish 😍 but yeah I have read that for a lot of dry skin people it didn't turn out right that's why I was hesitant. And over here you can't return makeup at all if it's used or even if the packaging is open..
Kathryn R: I do have Dior, YSL, not sure about Kevin Aucoin and pretty sure we don't have CoverFX..
I was looking for something with a bit more coverage because I do have dark circles and I do color correct too. And I do have darker areas on my skin that's why I thought more out of a foundation than a tinted moisturizer/bb cream. But I don't want anything too full coverage more like mediumish but on the light side if that makes sense aha.
Patty s: I've never tried facial oil ( honestly didn't know that existed 😅) but time to time I do use coconut oil on my face. :)

Moisturize! Its your best bet for helping your dry patches. That being said, I have combo/dry skin and I LOVE Rimmel's 25 HR Foundation With Comfort Serum. It feels nice and moisturizing and it still looks like skin. I'd say its medium and build able, and could be light if you're careful.

I have super dry skin and born this way is the one foundation I always feel confident grabbing bc it has never once failed me if that makes sense. Some foundations I love but on a bad or off day they can turn into a nightmare but with the too faced one I know it will look perfect all day and never get wierd or Camry on me.

Hi Simran. I believe I can help. I also live in Switzerland and have the dryest skin, and also dehydrated. Born this way was a total catastrophy on me. Uneven, cling to dry patches and accentuated pores. I have 3 holy grails that work for my skin. In summer I use the foundation stick by Bobbi Brown. I have vitiligo so I need full coverage in this period. The rest of the time I use Healthy mix serum by Bourjois or Skin Foundation by Bobbi Brown. They provide good coverage but look natural, like skin. I am very picky about that, my skin has to look like skin otherwise I'd rather not wear makeup. These foundations also last the whole day on me. I had problems with many too liquid foundations, because my skin drinks them and I'm left with a patchy finish, all assembled into my pores. I need to moisturize a lot before foundation and it's important to find the right combination. I can also explain where to buy makeup and about skincare. I'm a bit of an addict :) I hope this helps, let me know if you need more info.

I forgot to say, Bobbi will give samples and apply makeup on you at their counter. They have been the must useful to me when I wanted to learn more a couple of years ago.

I have Rosacia and dry skin. I moisturize and exfoliate and visit the dermatologist! I have tried Born this Way, it was better but looked flakey. Bobbi Brown stick was applied by the BB team specialists with their balms and it looked great. I spent $300.00 to find out it looked Casey 2 hours later! I am always looking too. The YSL touch Éclat ( not sure of spelling) worked the best, it is pricey, but has been the best so far. Also I just bought a trial size of IT cosmetics cc moisturizer foundation to try. It runs dark, I purchased light instead my usual medium. I hope it works! Good luck & hope this helps."

Thank you girls so much for your reviews :) For me finding people with dry skin is so hard I just feel like most of "humans" have oily or combo skin which sometimes I wish I had 😅😅
Nathalie C: I live on the French side of Switzerland ( Geneva ). I know they sell Bobbi brown stuff at Douglas.
Talking about stick foundations, I was interested in the MUFE stick foundation (which of cause isn't sold here so I have to go to France and it still isn't sold in France either) but I was planning to try that out once I could get my hands on it aha :)

Don't worry, I have dry skin and so do many of my clients. Do you get Dior where you live? Dior had some wonderful, radiant foundations that are great for dry skin. YSL is expensive but it's the most radiant foundation and it's perfect for dry skin. The Kevyn Aucoin foundation has more of a pretty satin sheen to it, but it is still wonderful for dry skin.
Laura Mercier makes an amazing tinted moisturizer. Do you get any of those brands where you live?
