My hair is very much between black and brown but I've been wanting to dye my hair this color without bleaching it. Will diluting a dark purple work on my hair or can I use a pastel hair dye directly?Should I go for the lavender or violet hair dye by directions? Hope to achieve at least a light purple or even a reflection. PLEASE HELP.

You'll have to bleach your hair.

For a light colour like this, you have to bleach your hair to a light blonde. Especially for pastels, your hair needs to be almost platinum blonde or platinum blonde.

There is absolutely no way you can achieve this without some form of lightening. if you just apply purple hair dye directly to your hair, all it will do is give it a purple tint that probably will only show up in showlight.
