My personal favorite is the Kenra Platinum "Hot Spray." It's a heat protectant with hold factor. So you spray it on, heat style your hair, and it holds it in place. It's a really good product for anyone with issues getting their hair to stay the way the styled it, such as their curls falling flat after a couple hours or so. It's a professional product, so you'll have to get in a salon or place that sells professional products. I can't tell you what it runs in salons usually, because I'm a licensed Cosmetologist, but I haven't been working in a salon recently so I get mine at a place that only sells to professionals for usually about half the price you'd pay in a salon. But where I get it it's $10, so it's probably about $18-$20. Lasts forever though, a little goes a long way - be careful not to use too much because it will put a build up on your hair because of the hold factor in it. If you want something without the hold factor the CHI "Iron Guard" works alright, but I don't use it much since I prefer the Kenra Hot Spray.

I use chi. With heat protectant you really want to avoid drugstore and go high end. The ingredients are better suited to protect your hair. It's one of those things where you definitely get what you pay for. And it makes a huge difference---you can't undo heat damage.
