What mac foundations do you have in your kit? I was thinking about the face and body foundation but it's not full coverage so what other foundation do you guys recommend? And what shades should I get?

I would recommend the MAC studio fix fluid spf 15 foundation. This is great for oily-normal skin. It makes my skin smoother and is sweat resistance which I love. This can give medium to full coverage depending on how much you put on. It's also on the top 10 MAC foundations. Hope this helps.

I like the Studio Fix Fluid, the Full Coverage and the pro longwear waterproof

I normally get the lightest shade and darkest then every other shade in between.

The studio fix fluid is great for people with normal to oily skin and gives a really smooth look and you can get medium to full coverage. But it does transfer a bit but with a sealer spray it stops that.

The Full Coverage cream foundation is good, I like it because it's easy to scrape some out and mix shades, you can add some oil to make it more liquid/more emollient for very dry skin or sheered down and you don't need much product, they also double as concealer and when used correctly gives a very nice look
For oily skin, it would need a good kaolin or rice powder or a sealing spray like the PPI Blue Marble Selr (water based) or the Green one which is alcohol based which I recently found and it definitely does the job but depending on the type of flash it (the foundation) can sometimes give a bit of flashback.

The waterproof one isn't a necessity but it is a fairly good option since it is quite water resistant with medium coverage.
I think it is great if you're in an area that's more humid or will be working on people for photoshoots or weddings cause this one gives zero flashback and will hold up the sweating and crying really well and reminds me of HD foundation cause it photographs great and doesn't look heavy when applied thinly with your fingers in layers

Another thing to consider getting is a few of the correcting shades of the Micronized Airbrush HD foundation. I like the Ochre shade to mix for people who need a tad more of an olive color. They have a few other shades like that which can be helpful and work great with studio fix fluid and the waterproof one (which leans a tad orange) I personally haven't tried it with the cream though.

So it comes down to preference.
I think it would have to be between the studio fix fluid and full coverage the most.
They may not be waterproof but the sealer spray can help waterproof the makeup and stop transferring.
Between the Studio Fix Fluid and Full Coverage, I think the studio fix fluid gives little to no flashback when it comes to direct flash photography whereas the full coverage can give a bit of flashback but there's no issue when bounced flash is used or when you have a powder over it that has some color

Omg thanks Aurora! Everything you said was so helpful. I'm getting more clients now so I really need to upgrade my kit, and do you carry the glass foundation bottles with you? I'm thinking about putting them in plastic travel containers so my kit won't be so heavy from all the glass bottles.

You're welcome :) I usually just have the whole bottles in a makeup case with wheels that contains more face makeup like foundations, powders, primers, airbrush compressor, hand sanitizer, makeup remover, cleansing wipes etc

Then I just have a bag I can carry with eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks melted down and put into a palette, and all the other stuff, eyeliner, mascaras and disposable wands and then I actually have a case for my brushes that folds into this bag easily

Aurora so you have both the marble sprays? What do you think about them and could you compare them to any other sealant spray?

Alma, yes I've been LOVING them so far.
Although, I haven't used any other sealing spray so I can't really compare them to anything else.

Prior to getting them I've only used setting sprays which I felt weren't cutting it for me.

But I find that these sealers actually work, I just have to make sure everything is all blended and streak-free cause once it's on the makeup won't budge.
I also make sure to use something like fix+ first to sort of mend the makeup layers together and allow the sealer to really seal it all which is a tip I read and it really did help.

So far I've been loving the green one just cause I am quite oily but the blue one still definitely does the job. I'm still playing around with them though but so far so good! :)

Could you provide a pic of the sealant sprays so that any one on BL can see what your talking about. I Have two sealant fixative barrier sprays I often talk about here which are mehron barrier and Cinema secrets sealant spray. They are amazing and a must to have. I've been eyeing the marble sprays because KJB mentioned that they were nice so I've been wanting to compare. Have you invested in sealant drops?
