I have naturally dark brown hair but trying to go a dark red... how for I achieve this look with box dye? also, any tips to maintaine it?

Box dye will wash out in 2 weeks, you would probably need a professional

I had chocolate dark hair and now it's dark red. I used Sally's ion brand. Make sure you get cream. It's easier to work with.

L'oreal Hicolor for dark hair is awesome! A nice selection of reds and no bleaching make it just about perfect for what you want to do.

l'oreal high colors in the color maganta get 3 if your doing your whole head because the hardly give enough in the tube also get a 40 developer and mix it together for a nice dark red color i hope i helped :)

How dark of red? I like Manic Panic's Vampire Red. It's a rich blue toned red. It's bright, but if you put it on your natural hair it gives it a red highlight. Maybe you can google some pics of it on natural hair. My hair was bleached beforehand.
