Hi! I'm Emily and I'm in dire need of your makeup expertise! I'm a teenager who has a bit of trouble with make up. I'm tired of having make up mustaches and blotchy looking skin! Please lend me your tips so I can look and feel better everyday! The only make up I own is foundation, blush, mascara, pencil, eye shadow, powder and bronzer. I'm very light skinned and I have auburn hair. Thank you!!

Maybe get a concealer. Also I think they have skin tone eveners for your face.

1. Prep your skin: exfoliate a few times a week nor more then 3times though. Wash your face with a gentle cleansing lotion (I use Cetaphil) and then moisturise (I also use a Cetaphil moisturiser). Let the moisturiser soak into your skin for 2-3 mins.
2. Apply sunscreen it's essential. Even if it's cloudy use a sunscreen. They're are no excuses for not wearing sunscreen unless there's a hurricane outside, it's night or you will be taking pictures for a special event. It doesn't matter if your foundation has SPF use a sunscreen.
3. Apply a primer so your makeup stays in place.
4. Use a foundation that matches your skin tone. Try a few out until you find the one that really works for you. Use a beauty blender or a flat-top/stippling foundation brush if you can. I use a beauty blender dupe from Ebelin and I have amazing results. Don't apply too much so it doesn't look extremely cakey.
5. Use a concealer that matches your foundation if you need to cover blemishes. Otherwise you can use a concealer that's slightly lighter than your foundation under your eyes in a triangle shape to make your face brighter and cover under eye circles.
6. Invest in a good bronzer that doesn't look cakey or muddy. I use Artdeco and I love it.
7. Make sure that the blush your using isn't some crazy hot pink and it still looks natural. Don't apply to much.
8. Do your eye makeup as usual. Experiment with colors that flatter your eye color etc.
9.Use a setting powder or a spray to keep your makeup in place.

Btw if you're skin looks ok and only needs a little color then I'd suggest using a tinted sunscreen or BB cream instead of foundation. You could also only use a mineral powder foundation. Make sure you remove all your makeup every single day. Clean your face well and moisturise. Exfoliate. Drink enough water for glowy skin and eat fats that are good for you such as in nuts, fish and avocados. Don't use makeup when doing sports if your going to sweat if you can avoid it, it'll just have your makeup running. If you have oily skin use oil-blotting sheets during the day and apply some translucent powder as needed.

Beauty Blender! Frankly, there's a thousand different complex things to try, but in my opinion a beauty blender is the best way to go. They're a little pricey, but very worth it! Dampen it before you use it, and just plop a drop of foundation on it, dab (don't brush, DAB) it on your face, and just keep doing that until you have the amount of foundation on that you want. :)
