I just got some and was wondering if anyone had any tips for caring for them and for keeping the damage to my natural nails as minimal as possible?

I wouldn't alternate between natural and acrylic very often, otherwise you're continuously buzzing down your nail. Also, only get a new set if you absolutely have to, same issue as alternating between natural and acrylic too often.

Thanks Riff, only getting these as a one off, definitely won't be getting them again as these are for an occasion.

Just be careful with them :) don't open any soda cans, or anything that requires your nail. Make sure you clean the bottom (like the part no one sees) ones a day cause they'll start to smell funky if you don't. Moisturize your cuticles! And don't chew on them :)

And no matter what, your natural nail will be funky for a little while. I got mine off like two weeks ago and you can see that my nails are growing out the parts where the acrylic was on

Don't try to take them off on your own! That really damages them, especially if you just try to rip them off. Go to nail salon and have them do it and get just a regular mani. I wore acrylics for 3 years (without taking them off, they were my real nails too, I just kept them super short) and when I went and had to get them off, my nails weren't damaged. They were a little thin but not like everyone says they'll be. I just got some nail thickener (sally hansen) once my mani they gave me wore off and my nails looked fine.

That's great to hear Lisa, hopefully I'll have the same experience as you. Thankyou!

I recommend getting a nail strengthener or conditioner or both, I have this stuff called nail magic ( or magic nail) & it's very nice, it has helped my nails heal from having acrylics
