Now that summer is here, I'm going completely makeup free. I'm super uncomfortable in my own skin, so this is weird for me. Opinions? Is there anything I can do to naturally improve my features? Sorry for my awkward face haha.

Just be sure you're well rested and take care of your skin! You're beautiful without it so don't forget that :) I've had a few makeup free days thanks to exams lately and I find something that works is smile at yourself when you see a mirror, it's a bit weird but It really brightens up my face and mood

You're gorgeous! And I go makeup free in the summer too (camp counsellor) and yeah it makes me kinda self conscious at first but it's really good for the skin and just as Brittany said take really good care of your skin

I think you're incredibly beautiful even without makeup ;) while you're going makeup free feel free to pamper your skin with diy natural face masks!

Wow I admire you, you really look gorgeous! I have asked myself several times: what if I go to work without make up? The idea scares me!! I don't feel comfortable enough to do that. The most funny issue is that my colleagues said that they do not notice when I do not wear make up (because at the end of my day the make up has just gone and my face looks bared, only my lashes and brows remain) but now you and Brittany have inspired me, tomorrow I will try to use only mascara and my dip brow :p and I will avoid using the mirror to resist the temptation of doing a full face! Thank you girls

There is no need to feel self conscious without makeup. you are beautiful without it! I go makeup-free all the time even though I don't always have the greatest skin. going makeup-free is good for your skin. it lets it breathe. just take good care of your skin. find a simple easy skincare routine and stick to it (: I find that cleansing my face boosts my confidence! it makes me feel good and knowing that I'm helping to improve my skin brings a smile to my face! I think it's really cool that you're going makeup-free and I hope it all goes well for you (;

Awww thanks ladies. Y'all are too kind. You've all definitely boosted my self esteem. @sadiya you go girl! You're gorgeous and don't you forget it. We don't need paint on our faces to be pretty. I hope the makeup-free summer helps to improve my skin, but I won't forget to take proper care of my face.

How you gave me a lot of inspiration to do this too! It's very hard for me, but I've gone wayyyyyy out of my shell in the past two months. I took baby steps. Now when I have to be "no makeup" I cleanse my face, put aloe Vera to help calm my rosacea, then a moisturizer with spf. Then when I go to pull out my makeup bag, I put on this eye refresh roller thing from elf, just to wake up my eyes (it's a clear gel thing, it's skin care, not makeup) then I'll powder my face and fill in my brows, then no one can tell I have on makeup, and I feel soo much better about myself, it's insane how that little of amount can do so much. I'm working on going zero makeup, and I'll be good if my brows ever grow back, lol
Good luck to you though!!

I applaud you. I'm glad you don't feel the need to wear makeup even though you feel uncomfortable. That really means you're confident about yourself that you being uncomfortable is less than your willing to go after what you want. All I can say is just keep up with the skin care routine eventually you're going to be comfortable 100%! I only wear makeup once or twice a week. For church and if I go out somewhere with the family. Other than that, bare face!

If I wear a lot of makeup for a long period of time, the first few days that I don't wear any I feel like I look horrible, but you have to adjust to seeing yourself without the makeup.

You are so gorgeous without make up but cause its summer you'll need to wear good sunscreen (50+), drink plenty of water and keep up your skin routine :)
