So I got my hair done today (by someone else) and it is very patchy, uneven, and so ashy that it is green. My base color is about a level 6, which I don't have a problem with. The highlighted parts of my hair are the problem. There is a very harsh, distinct line of demarcation where the lightener was placed; it's not feathered or blended at all.
So, here is my question:
Should I go back in just around the line of demarcation and apply a small amount of lightener just to feather it up and blend it more, THEN apply a warm toned brown over the blonde, or should I skip the lightener/blending process and just slap some color on?
Keep in mind that I still want my base/roots to be about a level 5 or 6, but I want my ends to be a lighter shade of brown. Nothing too intense, but I want it to be an obvious, yet blended, color difference between my ends and my base.
** You can't really see the green tint in the picture that I've attached but I swear it's there! haha
I would describe my goal hair color as brown roots with caramel-toned ends. VERY low contrast "balayage" almost.
Again, I am a professional, and I am very well educated on this, but like I said, when it comes to my own hair, I literally can never decide what to do. lol
Thank you in advance for your opinions!

So it's 2am, I can't sleep due to medication and I apologize if I read some of your post wrong. But I think it depends on if you want less blonde/caramel than you already have. If you want it to go higher, I'd lightly lighten it and feather it, but if you don't want it higher than I'd do the brown and feather it lower. If that makes sense?

Hahah my problem when it comes to my own hair. if you want more blonde I would feather and blend the crap with more Lightner but like I think you said you want more brown/carmel blend and feather down with that. basically what alyx said. kinda hard to do urself on your own head cause that's happened to me so I'd try and get a different stylist you maybe work with or know to do it.

I would say go to someone else who knows how to do a better ombré, or you could try yourself haha but if it were me I would back comb the pieces until about 70% of the hair is in the back combing, then apply the lightner to the ends. Back combing helps blend those lines so the are much softer! That's what I do to my clients with ombré and they always turn out beautiful!

So here's what I'm thinking...
Use the teasing technique to blend the lines out, then go in with a 6n on my base and a 7rb (red brown) on the parts that were highlighted (red to tone out the green tint in my hair). Whenever I use 2 colors like this I always go in with Awapuhi Moisture Mist from Paul Mitchell to spray where the 2 colors meet, then I just take my finger and rub the colors together so that it blends seamlessly.
What do you think? I highly appreciate any constructive criticism or just opinions in general, so just shout it out!
** I attached a picture of what my hair previously looked like and how I would like for it to look again.
Again, thanks ladies for your feedback and future comments!

Yes I wouldn't put lightner on level 10 hair either haha no point. That would make sense! I guess it just depends on how dark you want it to be but judging by the picture you don't mind depth! I think it would look pretty though and much better than what you have now haha
