This happened to my husband, we just simply changed deodorant and it went away. if that dosent do it I'd go see a doc to make sure there's no underline issue

Is your neck or beneath the breasts darker as well?

I've heard that lemon juice can lighten dark areas of skin like armpits xx

I believe lemon juice is bit too acidic for the skin

Do not put lemon on your skin, it's just going to cause damage. Try changing deodorants, as already suggested, and try exfoliating as well.

Dove makes a deodorant specifically for discoloured armpits and I heard it works amazing. I forget what it's called though.

Most of the time you need to see a dermatologist because this is something that can just happen after pregnancy. Our hormones change, we change, suddenly we have totally new bodies. Sometimes it's a simple deodorant change and exfoliation, but be prepared to have it be something permanent.

Emily, I agree it could be hormonal, but it is treatable if it is..say Acanthosis nigricans. This often occurs under arms, breasts, necks and skin folds. For many, it is an Endocrine issue or a sign insulin is not being properly broken down. This means a serious change in diet and prescription wash/lotion. It could be nothing...but I agree a derm is a good idea, but I'd start with exfoliation and changing deodorant to see if there is a change for starters. Great advice here!
