So I don't have much experience with dying my hair. I really want ombre but the cost of getting it done is the only thing holding me back. Do you think I should just go for is and spend the money? (Probably around 80-100$) or should I try to do it myself?

The problem with ombre is that I can look really awful when done wrong, but you say you're already experienced so if you do proper research on how to do it right (videos or so) and use the right bleach developer for your hair it should be fine. just really put some time and efford in it or it will look like two random blocks of colour :)

I'd say get it done professionally. Like Julia said, it's easy for it to look rubbish so a stylist would be the best option if you're inexperienced.
The great thing about ombre though is that it's quite low maintenance so it's not like you'll be spending that money on a monthly basis, it will be a good while before you'll need to get it done again.

I got my ombre professionally done and it looks gorgeous, my stylist blended my natural brown color and the blue perfectly. I would definitely suggest going to a professional but do your research on stylists first to make sure you go to someone that knows how to properly do an ombre.

I would get it proffesionally done. Ombre has a lot of blending and feathering and I think would be hard to do urself. And if you do it urself and it doesn't turn out you may go to a salon and get it fixed which could cost more. another thing would be to make sure if you get it done proffesionally that the stylist knows what there doing... because some don't.

If you have very little experience with hair dye I would go get it done someone professional. Ombré is very tricky to get right and if you do it wrong; fixing it could end up costing more than it would have been to get it done originally. :)

I agree with all of the other ladies, get it done professionally.

I agree, I would get it don't professionally! Same reasons as stated above. I am a hairstylist, and I don't know how much the average hair service costs where you live but I would plan on spending a lot more than 80-100 on it. I charge about 140 for the color on average (I do a lot of ombres) and you will want to remember the cost of the blow dry or cut.

Definitely get it done professionally. I'm an esthetician but I did work at a salon for a while before going to a med spa but omg I've seen so so many bad at home balayage & ombre attempts and then they have to pay more for color correction. I also agree with Rebecca that it's a low maintenance look so you won't have to spend too much money getting it touched up exactly every 4 to 6 weeks.

I think you should get it done professionally.

Well, since professionals even mess ombres up and you have little experience with hair, I think it would be safest to go with a professional. Especially when working with bleach. If you happen to make a mistake with bleach, you could be paying more than 80-100 just to fix your hair.
