I'm torn between purchasing the estee lauder double wear or the Kat von D lock it...you ladies helped me discover thAt estee lauder would be great instead of the MUFE HD for my oily acne prone skin..but now I'm torn..I want meduim/ full coverage, long wearing , and little to no transfer. I hear that kvd can be cakey tho and I will be applying it with a beauty blender.. Help!

Oh nooo I love both of them hahaha I definitely could never pick! But I'll list out some pros and cons of each so you can kind of decide what's more important to you!
KVD lock it tattoo (lasts about 9 hours before it looks separated and gunky)
Pros-
•full coverage with one layer
•lots of colour selection
•natural/matte finish
•looks great when applied with a damp sponge
•great oil control factor
•almost a moussey type feel when applied
Cons-
•sinks into fine lines/ dry patches
•not Buildable (not that you'd really need to but definitely don't layer this foundation)
•need to be careful when applying to avoid a streaky look (won't be a problem with a sponge)
ESTÉE DB 6-7 hours
Pros-
•full coverage
•very natural finish
•much lighter feel
•can build if needed
•great when applied with a buffing brush
Cons-
•I find when applied with a sponge it tends to separate throughout the day
•doesn't last as long as KVD in my personal experience
•doesn't look great in fluorescent light (ex. School)

Transfer wise I'd say they're the same but the KVD takes longer to really set and avoid transfer

I only had KVD, and I found the best way to apply it was with a beauty blender. I just don't dampen it. The KVD foundation dries quickly, so you have to work with one part of your face at a time with a dry beautyblender. That's what I found worked best for me, anyway. I haven't tried Estée Lauder's foundation, but I've always wanted to. I heard it has a less matte finish than KVD's though. I also really liked Revlon Colorstay's foundation, I think it kinda breaks me out though so I don't use it too much, but I heard Estée Lauder's foundation is very similar to that foundation if you tried Revlon's.

I agree with Brittany on KVD^

Estée Lauder Double Wear. It's medium to full coverage, long wearing, transfer resistant, and doesn't break down from skin's oils. I've never experienced the Double Wear looking cakey.

Love them both, both amazing foundations but I'd say kvd. Kat Von d has more coverage and last a little bit longer (in my experience) and I find I don't have to set my whole face or really blot throughout the day if I wear a pore filling or matteifying primer. It doesn't transfer at all never looks Cakey on me and covers all my imperfections (:

I love the Kat Von D lock it. Never have tried Estée Lauder. The KVD last forever for me, even on days where I swear quite a bit. I also love the finish, it looks so smooth and covers really well. I have never had any issues with cakiness, because cakiness is more of an application issue.

Double wear is a medium coverage but can be slightly built up but not complete full coverage and it depends on skin. The Estee lauder DW Maximum camouflage coverage is the complete full coverage foundation and KVD is full coverage. When working with a complete full coverage you need to know what your working with and get familiar with the product and application. So the question is are you familiar with a full coverage foundation and if so and that's what your looking into then go with the complete full but really think if you need to go full on coverage, are you trying to cover something to the Max. If anything truth be told grab samples it makes things so much easier and you'll know which is best. :)
