I wasn't sure where to put this...
but for those of you sent products for review- or just bloggers in general that really didnt like a product
how do you go about voicing your opinion without completely putting down the brand.
When I personally spend my money on the product It's easier for me to write my review- but I was a sent a product I really hate and the brand is waiting for my post and I just feel bad talking about how much I hated their product...

What didn't you like about it? Watch Manny mua latest haul, he received lipsticks from color pop that he hated and did a good job of reviewing them negatively! Just be sure to thank them and say the product is not for you.

Make sure you use words like "this didnt work for me" or "personally I thought this could've been improved" etc, instead of things like "this part about it sucked" "I hated how.." For example "I found that the mascara didnt work for my lashes because the product was too watery and made them clump up" instead of "I hated this mascara and it made my lashes look horrible" make sure you point out the specific things that didnt work for you so they could know how to improve the product instead of bluntly saying it sucked or it was bad :)

I struggled with this for a while. Then I discovered that using the sandwich method worked best for me. In a sandwich you have bread, filling , then bread again. So when I don't like a product I share something that I liked, then why I didn't like it overall, and I finish it with something nice again. Since I write about nails, I would say that I loved the Formula, but the color just didn't work on my skin tone, but I would like to try another color. I agree with giving specifics about why it didn't work for you. It let's people know they might not have the same problem. You could say that the color didn't work for your skin tone, or that the product didn't work for your skin type. This way you are simply stating that while it didn't work for you, others might not have the problems :) hope this made some sense lol.

Agreed with Taylor. A compliment sandwich is a great way to give criticism. When I was a supervisor I did it all the time.

Another thing you might do is contact the company before posting. Share what you honestly thought with them and go from there. The company will appreciate the feedback, and they will also appreciate the heads up!
