And also any tips on dyeing dark hair?
Thanks :)

Garnier nutrisse has both of those colors in a dye specifically for dark hair, I'd go that route.

What shades of red or purple do you want?

I agree with Shanae, either Garnier Nutrisse or Manic Panic. Garnier is one of the least damaging dyes and Manic Panic specializes in unnatural colors :)

Just remember that for un natural colors you'll have to bleach your hair to blonde and the upkeep is a lot. Also make sure that your school or job allows it.

You don't always have to bleach. There are certain dyes that are for dark hair colors and they work. I know from personal experience.

If your hair is Virgin, I'd personally use Loreal hilift permanent highlights :) it's lifted my dark brown hair to straight up fire engine red. It has bleach in the product, so you don't need to bleach then dye ;) works cherry, better than the garnier in my opinion...however, if you're looking for a deeper red auburn color or purple, the garnier one will do.
