I moved to Michigan from Las Vegas in December and it is so interesting to see the differences in style. I frequently get stopped by people and asked how I come up with my outfits, and how they have never seen anyone with an outfit like that. Sometimes its so strange in Vegas not every one dresses like this but some people do. Where are you ladies from and what kind of style would you say you wear a lot?
This is one of my favorite outfits

I have to say I find the socks weird especially the blue ones other than that I find the outfit normal apart from wearing it a night I find that's weird only because I live in England and you would be absolutely freezing in that haha.

I'm from Denmark (tiny country in Scandinavia) I would said style here is very basic. People will often wear very soft neutral colors, very natural almost no makeup... There is of cause more colorful people here as well but I would say the natural/neutral style is the majority.

I would say the same for England pretty neutral obviously a lot more covered up than you are as it's cold and there's ovbiously always some crazy dressed people and punky and Emo and goth style lol and never forgetting the chavs haha.

I am from Scotland (in the UK) and due to the colder climate you rarely see anyone wearing shorts or dresses, even in summer it can still be a bit cold. Leggings are pretty popular at the moment, along with patent leather shoes (I adore mine). I don't really find anything strange in your outfit other than the socks really, if I lived in a warmer place I can imagine that style is pretty popular?

I'm from Michigan, grew up here then lived in Florida for about 7 years but always had a vacation home there and the styles were definitely different. my house in FL is on a private beach so some days I lived in a bikini and it wasn't abnormal to leave the beach & go to a bar/ restaurant by the public beaches at hang out in a bikini lol, even in the summer you'll never see that in michigan it's a completely different environment. Also, my FL home is about 25 min from Miami (It's in west Palm beach) so when I was actually dressed I was always in heels & dressed to the nine & showed a lot of skin. Here in Michigan, the city I'm in is mainly upper middle to upper class like in wpb but it's more conservative so I feel depending where I am my style changes drastically. I wear heels all the time here but it's more covered up and nicer clothes I feel where as Florida was a little more laid back. So I definitely understand lol I feel I have two different wardrobes even though I'll still incorporate my Florida style sometimes here.

Its always so intriguing to see the difference in style I am a huge thigh high socks and boots kind of girl. a lot of people are like you socks are weird but you pull it off... I am not sure why I feel in love with them but I love it.
Sarah I completely get that changing depending where you are... I live in a small town of Clinton here but I work in saline but go out to annarbor and what not so I have so many different style changes all the time which is fun and keeps me picking out different fashions.
I grew up in California so I was always on the beach and wearing bikinis wasn't abnormal there at all nor was it weird in Vegas even though there are no beaches...
Hollie a really good friend of mine moved to UK and she was telling me the same thing she completely had to buy a new wardrobe.
Jacqlyn of course there will always be the people who don't dress like everyone else :) which is great
Charlotte the socks are white its the lighting outside :) and in Vegas it stays pretty warm even at night except in the winter sometimes.

Sabrina I worked in salon on the strip in Vegas and it was always intriguing to see the culture difference and the style difference in other countries I had a few client from Scandinavia who would tell me how they wanted to look american while they were here. some of them would show me pictures of them back home compared to visiting and I see what you mean when they say very soft and neutral I think its a beautiful way of life :)

I live in a small town in Kentucky and the style here is pretty casual lol, tshirts and jeans. But the people who do dress up often dress pretty preppy, and that's not really my style. I like a grungish or bohemian style (opposites I know but I switch back and forth between those 2).
On my college campus though there are tons of styles, because we are a very culturally diverse campus which is awesome!

I'm from los angeles, CA and man man you ser qll kinds of styles here but its normal, I personally like to be in jeans and a logo t shirt or plain t shirt and I'm set, and if I want to dress it up I wear heels 👠
Jacqlyn what part of north carolina are you in? I've been to north carolina and live there for about a year and there defenitly is a pattern well compared to los angeles, I feel like they arent as wild in there style as people from LA I never saw anyone with crazy colored hair or a wild outfit I feel like they are more conservative

@Charlese I'm from Vegas too! Woo hoo lol! But I totally get where you're coming from because I recently moved to DC and I stick out like a sore thumb. Everyone here thinks I dress flashy and stuff. I even wear shorts in the winter time with tights and thigh high boots. Everyone thinks I'm crazy for that but I guess I refuse to give up my warm Vegas apparel.

I'm from New York and it really is a mixture here. You see all types of styles and trends. The in-thing now is "hipster" although I don't like to classify people based on how they dress. New York City and Long Island are similar in the way that they're both diverse. It's fun seeing so many different styles! I love it! It's cool because walking a few blocks in the city, every style/trend is represented. I get to see tourists from all over as well.
I tend to dress more casual and preppy for the most part. Although, my personal style is partially influenced by what I see around me.

I live in Miami, FL and here people don't really care about what's the season's color, or what kind of clothing is in, etc. I love and keep up to date with all that, and so, whenever I dress in clothing that's in that season, noone seems to notice:( I be like : 😀👗👠👛💄 and they be like: 😐👚👖👞. There's 99% hispanic people where I live so I guess that influences too. I wish I lived in NY or some place like that. Teenagers here usually dress in crop tops and high wasted jeans or shorts, and older people don't seem to care much about clothing. Now If you go to the coast a little bit more, everyone's in bikinis and shorts and all that

@Maria that's what I love about NY. Parts of Long Island are like an Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue come to life. I went to high school there and everyone dressed the same. I'm in the city now for college :)

I'm from Nebraska and everyone here dresses so basic or either tumblr inspired. My sister & I usually get asked if we're from out of town because we like to dress up & shop all over. One lady even told me my makeup was done too nicely for me to be from here. Yeah, Nebraska style isn't too exciting.

It is definitely a complete different climate over here when you're not used to it!

I love all the different styles! I'm in England and pastels and neutrals are really popular here at the moment.
I wear a ton of dark and earthy colours including burgundys and purples so I dress differently to others where I live.
But then you get into London (which is an hour away from me), you get an eclectic style range, especially if you go to Camden, Brick Lane, Bethnal Green. I love London :)
