You can return it no problems. They'll just need your license or ID and it'll go back as a return without a receipt, which you can only do three times a year. You'll get a store credit for it.

Sephora has a great return policy. They changed it around a year ago where if you have no receipt you can't get a credit, you can only redeem it the day of. Which makes sense.

Assuming you live in the United States (if not then I don't know, in some countries it's a lot stricter) you should have no problem returning it. Sephora pretty much takes anything back (I just returned a bronzer the other day that I bought at the beginning of March with no packaging and no receipt...it was on my beauty insider card and that's it). I don't think you'll have any problems.
