Should I dip dye my hair?

I have experienced hair breakage in the past after dying my hair red and relaxing it too much!! However, I wear extensions and was thinking I could still dye the bottom of them purple rather than dying my whole head purple, opinions please?💕

Thanks Cailyn & Mady! I think I might dip dye it first because at least if I don't like it I can get the ends cut off because it's extensions! & thanks Leagh, I really want the purple but I'm not sure if it would damage my hair or not😕
