I used to have this problem after a day of wearing makeup but it's getting worse. Now my foundation gets patchy (the skin looks dry and flakey underneath it) and seems to disappear completely within an hour, leaving my spots and my red blemishes exposed.
I tried my foundation with and without powder, I used different foundations, I've used primer, I moisturised, I peeled and nothing has helped.
Has anyone any other ideas or tips for me?

What foundation, primer, powder are you currently using? if your primer and foundation have different bases (water, solicone, oil) it could be causing it to "vanish" from your face. also have you tried exfoliating your face?

I've tried infallible by L'oreal, perfect match by L'oreal, all mart plus by catrice and revlon colourstay
My primer is silicone based
I have tried both fit me by maybelline and loose powders by manhattan
I have tried exfoliating but it didn't really helps :(

I would double check if your foundations contain silicone. Also you say your skin looks dry and flaky underneath. From my experience, silicone extenuates dry skin if you have it. I have oily skin but in the winter I get dry skin on my nose and sometimes on my cheeks and I can't use silicone based products because my skin looks flaky. I would recommend trying a water based foundation and primer to see if that makes a difference. You can also try a setting spray to help the makeup stay on your face.

Thank you so much for your help :)
I find it so difficult with my skin because it looks super oily after a day but it also has all those dry patches :/
Do you have any recommendations for water based products? At this point I am ready to buy anything ;)
Also if the main ingredient is water but it also contains a lot of silicones it still is water based isn't it?

Let me check out some water based products and I'll get back to you. Even if it contains water and somewhere it still says "silicone" in it then it would be water and silicone blend. I personally use a water and silicone blend of L'Oreal True Match and MUFE Mat Velvet + with my Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer (Silicone based) and I love the combination however I do not have much dry skin.

For some brands that you might like I would check out Laura Mercier and Cover Fx.

Try using a primer underneath and lighter application of foundation, top with setting powder and make up fixer (work like hairspray on your face) :)

I used to have the exact problem because my skin was so oily. You need a good primer & a good foundation & setting powder also try exfoliating. Try a mattifying primer, and an oil free foundation. If you're too oily, use a Matt powder but if your skin is normal try a cream powder & just pat it all over your face to set your makeup & might cover your dry patches. Finally use a setting spray to guarantee it will stay on for longer :)

This is actually an issue of skincare. Until you get a routine down that works properly for your skin, no makeup is going to sit well or last very long no matter what formula it is.
You need to find a cleanser, exfoliant, and moisturizer to tackle the issues you are having. It sounds like your skin is dehydrated: it has dry flaky patches but overproduces oil to try and compensate. However, I would see a dermatologist or esthetician to truly get the best advice.
