Acne vs. Pimples/zits??

Is there a difference between acne and pimples or zits?? I've always thought about them being the same, but some products say different.

Yaz said it well. Another thing is sometimes pimples are when its just one like they will come one at a time and then go away and acne is usually like a lot of them at once usually In the same area. (This isn't true all the time tho)
