A lot of people talk about how they refuse to buy from brands such as L'Oreal, Covergirl, etc. because they test on animals. honestly, don't pretty much all companies test their products on animals one way or another?? and pretty much all companies claim not to test on animals, but we don't believe them. and I get that it can be cruel, but they are doing it to protect us. to make sure that they don't release a product that can be harmful to us. I just don't get why people make a big deal out of this. besides, how would they know? we have no way of knowing which brands really test on animals, because they all claim not to, but we say they do…

Because some people like I think there is other ways to do things then to hurt animals are to take the chance to hurt animals and lets get honest rather it hurts a animal or not it could still hurt our skin depending on how our skin reacts to it :) not trying to start a argument I just love my babies animals

And Amy I actually do see your point also :)

I really don't think all company's test on animals lol especially higher end. It's ok to not buy a product because they have flat out said they test on animals. It's gross and unnecessary. And nobody's ranted about it as you're going they just stated their opinion. Saying they test on poor baby animals to protect us is ridiculous.

Personally I agree to medicine testing on animals to ensure a company won't kill any humans but I disagree with cosmetic testing. A lot of brands actually no longer test on animals and I haven't really seen people claim that those that say they don't test do. I think you maybe have run Into a few narrow minded people

^I agree with Kendra (:

I understand your point Amy, some people just feel that there are other routes to take than go test on innocent animals. Maybe they just shouldnt use crappy chemicals that they'll have to test animals on and just use better ingredients. Everyone has their own opinion and this is something that could be argued about all day but in the end nobody ia wrong and nobody is right. We'l just have to agree to disagree I suppose.

I won't buy from companies that test on animals because I feel bad that I'd support a company that's harming innocent animals. I think there are alternatives to animal testing

Many high end brands and some drugstore products test on animals. I don't like using them.

Animals don't use beauty products, so why should we test on them. Millions of animals are killed because of it. It's mostly mice but also rabbits, dogs, cats, and primates.

The people that say they like animal testing because it keeps people safe I have to say I completely disagree with you. Animals are just as important as humans. We are equal. Sure humans are a more popular and powerful species but that doesn't mean we are any better or worse than rats or mice or any other animal.

I'm not saying I only use things that are cruelty free. I try not to use brands that are openly saying they test on animals but I do use some that I have no idea about. But just because people use it doesn't make it right.

I did an argument paper on this subject. The cruelty-free do have alternative ways to test their products. I can't remember specifically what they were anymore. But from what I remember many companies are jumping on board. L'oreal for example would like to adapt new testing alternatives and are working toward it. But they aren't quite there yet. Also, a lot of people love animals they are great! But keep in mind our skin isn't quite the same as an animal.

I don't even really understand what you typed, Amy. Is your justification for animal testing that it protects us from potentially harmful ingredients? And what? Companies lie and they say are cruelty free, but it doesn't matter since they are lying? Like, what even is that last sentence?

What's the problem with wanting to buy cruelty free products?? Like...that's like saying why bother not buying clothes made from child labor sweatshops bc they could be lying.

I see both sides of the rant. I agree with Tomoko. I'm not going to sit on my laptop for a couple hours to pick out which brands to use. Personally, Loreal is one of my favorite brands and they aren't "cruelty free" I don't mind if people want to use cruelty free products, but I'm going to continue using what works well on my skin whether they are cruelty free or not.
