My hair is SOO thick and curly how can I thin it out.

You can get it thinned at a salon but other than that I don't think there's much you can do.

I'm not allowed to use thinning Sears

I agree with Alexis.

There's no other way than cutting it..

Get it done professionally... Definitely don't try to thin it yourself.

Well that's why I said to get it done at a salon, I didn't mean for you to do it yourself.

You would need to go to a salon. if none of that works for you , thn I would just embrace it. Thick curly hair is acually a blessing and it can look very pretty alone or when styled right. maybe try a relaxer or mousse to clam the curls.

But I agree with MG - curly, voluminous hair is a blessing! I'd suggest looking into ways to make the most of your hair - start at naturallycurly.com for lots of tips and advice on styling, taming frizz, etc.etc. I wouldn't suggest chemical straightening processes like relaxers. They're damaging, can burn your scalp and imo often make hair look crunchy, stiff or fried. A high-quality straightener would give a better appearance, but those are also pretty damaging if used all the time.

I know you want it thinned but curly voluminous hair is gorgeous!! instead of getting it thinned, you could try taming it. lots of brands have their version of curl taming products. you can get a smoothing shampoo and treatment.

Go to the salon and see what they can come up with x

Agreed with Bella...I have thick curly hair that was hard to tame then I figured out a couple of solutions and I'm sooo thankful I didn't get it thinned or straightened chemically because it's at its best now

I have a huge mane...I have so much dang hair I could get several full wigs made from it if I shave my head. Its also very curly and when stretched it reaches just past my butt. Embrace your thick curly hair because there are plenty of beauties who wish they could have what we both have. The key is just learning tricks/products to maintain it all. Once you find the perfect combo then it won't be so bad trying to take care of it. The website that Jack B mentioned is a great starting point.

I have to agree with Shelley. Embrace your lock because a lot of people spend loads of money on weaves for the illusion of curly thick hair.

People would DIE for big thick, bouncy, curly hair like yours! Big hair is beautiful!

I've got super thick curly red hair and after years of trying to alter it, I just embrace it like Shelley. Granted I do get it thinned at the salon but I love it. Word of advice though about salons.. Just make sure whoever cuts your hair really knows how to cut curly hair. People say they do and they really don't. You'll regret it later if they lied! Lol trust me, I'm just getting to the point that my hairs fixed!

I like curly hair but I hate it thick I told my mom about shears she got angry and said ppl wish for a hair like yours.

Your mom is right. When I was 14-15 years old I wanted to do the same thing but my mom refused me the right to cut anything of serious length or to thin out my hair (which by the way on curly hair leads to split end because of the angle in which the hair is being cut at to take away some of the bulk). I'm glad she stood her ground and said "NO". I get far more compliments with my hair in its natural state than I ever did when I wore it straight. Even my two son's love girls with curly thick hair. ;)

Why do you dislike wearing your hair curly now? Maybe we can offer some tips and help you enhance and embrace it. Trust me, it'll save you a lot of frustration with trying to keep it straight!
