Hello all!
I recently noticed I have several white hairs coming in. I know most people will suggest dying the hair so it isn't white but I honestly don't want to go that route. I think the white hairs are cool looking since they have a sparkly/ glittery look to them. But the white hairs are coarse and unruly. Does anyone with white hair experience have any tricks to getting the white hairs soft and manageable?

This is interesting, I'll wait for a response :)
I agree with you, I love the look of white hair! I have very short hair so my pomade takes care of this problem for me. How long is your hair?

I have a bunch myself but not enough to start reaching for the gray hair shampoo...which is purple in color if I'm not mistaken. Its suppose to take down the yellow brassiness that some encounter with gray hair. As far as coarseness goes...not really much we can do about that (texture change just comes with the territory of gray hair). I'vw just been big on intensive hair masks to counteract the texture and slight frizz. I've become a lil nervous as I noticed that my gray hairs aren't coming in curly but bone straight and I always envisioned having a curly white mane and with them coming in straight so much for that fanstasy. :(

I have so many myself it's out of control. I did try to let them grow out but like Shelley said they grew out so freaking straight. So I just decided to dye them.

Shelley, just wait. My grandpa had curly hair till it started going grey, it went straight. He went grey extremely early, he had Greys in his 20's. But when he was very salt and peppered, about 20 years of greying, his hair got really curly, like way curlier than before. Then by the time he was 60 his black hair was mostly straight but kinda wavy and some of the grey hairs were curly. Hair is weird, and when grey hair comes in it really gets weird lol.

@Alyx T. I'm so scared of just having straight hair. I don't think I would be close to happy with it being wavy. I just love my curls too much. I remember when I had cancer and did the chemo rounds...when my hair started growing back in my curls remained but the texture was even finer than before. And now I have two different textures of curly hair. Its crazy...even meds can affect hair growth.

Also shine pomades are a gray hair bestfriend. Gray hair can sometimes take on that flat /non-shine appearance. When my hubs oils my scalp he always makes sure to pay extra attention to my gray strands by coating them from root to end.

Breeze- My hair is 3/4 of the way down my back. The white hairs are only a few inches long.
Shelly- Thank you for the advice, I will definitely have to look into more hair masks and some pomades also.
