I have oily skin so I use my MAC Blot Powder to set my makeup but I used to use the NYC Smooth Skin Loose Face Powder and that was a great product!
I use the Real Techniques Contour Brush to contour and their Buffing Brush for foundation, both are available in the Core Collection set (:

For setting powder, I use NHX HD translucent powder. It's my faaaaavorite. I've gone through like 5 jars hahaha.
I don't contour, but as for foundation brush, I love the Sonia Kashuk #4 brush, it's amazing. I also enjoy the UD optical blurring brush. (FYI, they're both dense flat top kabuki a; perfect for buffing and getting the most coverage out of my liquid foundations)

I like using the NARS Light Reflecting Translucent Powder (preferably loose, the pressed powder is so hard to get out of the pan).

For the contour brush I love my NARS ITA brush, I use it everyday! For my foundation I love my IT cosmetics flat top kabuki! Works like a charm (:

Sigma f80 is a dense flat top kabuki brush, I see everyone use it all over YouTube lol
The M439 from morphe is also a dense kabuki/buffing brush

I just got the bdellium tools 7 piece kit (full review: http://www.beautylish.com/t/imqinv/bdellium-studio-basic-tools-set-in-depth-review)
The angled contour brush that comes in that kit is really nice, especially for powder. It is goat hair so it picks up product and blends well. The hair is reasonably soft as well, not as irritating as some goat hair brushes I've tried. It's about $7 if you buy the whole kit (which is $50) or $11 if you buy it seperately.
The foundation brush that comes with the set is a good one as well. It's also $7 or $11. I think I still prefer my Kashuk tools flat top for some foundations, but the bdellium is a really great shape for a flat paddle brush.
Also: I third recommending the RCMA no color. It's so much product for the money. I feel like I'll be using this powder for the rest of my life.
