Is the Clarisonic worth it?

Thoughts on the Clarisonic? I've got dry, dull skin with a few dark spots I'd like to get rid of so was looking at getting this. But I'm not 100% sure if it's worth it or not as I've never owned a Clarisonic.

Try it out and see if you like it cause everyone's skin is different. Personally I think it's worth it it really cleans my skin well but I feel like the Clinique and any other skin scrubber does the same thing as the clarisonic.

I agree with Rachel I have a cheaper one from Walmart (that I forgot the name of) and it works great.

I think that any method above manually with your hands will effectively cleanse your skin better. I think the difference Kate way a clarisonic works as an oscillation rather than just working through vibrations. This helps promote all the things in your skin to come up to the surface (which is why people have a purging stage). If you are extremely concerned with skin care and would like to try it out, I recommend the Mia 1, it's 99 dollars and the base model. It's only like ten dollars more than the Clinique cleansing system.

I personally don't think so. The foreo - yes. I feel like the clarisonic is just waiting to harbor an infection. Plus you have to constantly buy new heads, its not an investment it's a long term commitment to spending money every couple months. The foreo is silicone so it can be cleaned super easily with alcohol and doesn't have any crevices that can't be reached like the clarisonic does. And you don't have to replace it. Since you don't have heavy acne I think the foreo is better since you'll still get the sonic pulses and exfoliation but you're not scrubbing with a brush. Plus it's much gentler, there hasn't been nearly as much reactions to it. Some people react so horribly to the rough bristles on clarisonic brushes, I've seen scabs on people without normal acne from them.
Honestly the clarisonic scares me so much lol. All I see is a rough scary bacteria breeding ground that people scrub their faces with.

I love my Clarisonic personally. It really helps keep my skin clean and helps with the overall texture of it. I stopped using it for a while and I noticed a huge difference and needless to say I won't be without it again. Yes you do have to change the brush heads but it's not all that often. Every 3 months isnt that bad to me. And I love the feeling of a new brush head. They also make a lot of different brush heads now that are for different skin types so you should be able to find one that isn't rough on your skin. I have acne prone skin and the sensitive skin one is fine for me but they have a delicate one as well as the luxe line of brushes that are super soft (they are a little more expensive though) And I have never had a problem with bacteria on my brush heads. They are all treated with antimicrobial agents so they are not very susceptible to bacteria growth. But I will wash mine with an antibacterial soap after using it. Really I think as long as you are letting it dry out you will be fine. Maybe if you left it in the shower all the time and the brush was constantly wet you would have issues. I take my brush off the handle after pretty much every use and I dry it with a towel and then let it sit overnight and it's fine. I've been using mine for about 2 years now and have had no problems at all. Of course everyone's skin is different but overall I feel the brush is a good investment.

Also, a lot of the people I've seen that have a reaction are usually using their brushes incorrectly. Using the right brush is important and it's also really importantant to know that you DO NOT have to scrub. Literally all you need to do is hold the brush against your skin lightly and move it in small gentle circles. It should do all the work for you. If you scrub hard then yes you will have irritation and problems further down the line. On a final note I wouldn't get any "dupe" unless it is the Clinique Sonic of the Foreo. They are the only ones that actually still use the sonic pulses, the other ones like the Olay ProX just spin and that can be very harsh on the skin. In the long run if you didn't want to spend money replacing brush heads though the Foreo would be the best choice. I haven't tried it but I hear good things. And the Clinique sonic is developed with dermatologists and has a lot of the same specs technology wise as the Clarisonic. That may be a good place to start as it has the lowest price point while still offering the sonic technology.

@Rachel, Brittany, Taylor - Thank you!

@Winnie - It's mostly the radiance stuff I want with this one to be honest as its supposed to be flood with dark spots. But I may get the Mia and this set separately.

@Alyx - I will take a look at it, thank you!

@Caitlin - Thanks for all that! I work in a JCP Sephora so the discount on the clarisonic is part of the reason that I want it. I'm sad because the brush head with this set isn't rebuyable unfortunately, so if I do like it I'll have to find a similar one.
