I know that the body shop used to not test there products on animals but I heard that loreal or something brought the body shop so I was wondering if that was true?

Yes, they did purchase The Body Shop. Therefore the parent company is not cruelty free, even if Body Shop products are. Some companies don't test or contain animal byproducts, but purchase ingredients from suppliers that do. To my knowledge there are no plans to change The Body Shops current formulas. Hopefully this is a sign that Loreal recognizes that such products are in demand and changes their policies across the board to match The Body Shop's.
