I wish I could help :( I have normal to oily skin, so I really don't know how to treat SUPER dry skin. (My skin does get slightly dry during the winters, but moisturising it and washing it with a creamy face wash really helps me).
I don't know if this would help but— the body shop vitamin e facial cleanser is SO moisturising. It's super creamy and it leaves a thin film of, like, moisture on your face even once you've washed it off. x

If a usual moisturiser isn't really helping you in getting rid of those dry patches then how about rubbing some coconut oil on the dry areas? Oil's tend to be so much more moisturising. Don't apply it before going out of anything, just apply it when you're at home. I think it should help. x

I exfoliate with a diy scrub and I usually use coco butter (the pure kind) from queen helen that comes in the tube. you can find it normally at stores like walmart and I use sulfate free facial cleansers. two times a week I use a moisturizing mask from the freeman Brand.

My skin is naturally dry, and dries out even MORE in this dry Canadian weather... And I constantly have windburn from snowboarding so just trust me when I say in the poster gal for dry skin hahaha. I recommend buying a gentle cleanser, I really like micabella milk cleanser or Secrets facial cleanser, they are both milk cleansers and very gentle but effective on the skin. A gentle alcohol free toner will balance out your skin and prevent more dryness while still returning nutrients into it. Once again micabella and secret make a great one. I think a super important step for dryer skin is serum, it is placed after toner but does not replace moisurizers. Find a skin repair or moisture repair one anywhere. Night creams are actually a godsend, I personally wear night creams as a day moisturizer too and they don't look oily if you let them set, the AnimoGenesis cream is phenomenal and anything with the word CREAM will be thicker and more effective than a simple moisturizer :)

I have super duper dry too! I usually wash my face and it almost hurts because it's so dry! What I am doing now is putting a face moisturizer and it really helps! I use the Garnier face moisturizer, and I was told the loreal moisturizers work really well too!
