When is the best time to get a facial? My face is currently recovering from a hormonal break out. Is it best or ok to get them while you are still healing?

I'm an esthetician. It's always a good time to get a facial. When you're going through a breakout, the estheticians can do an acne facial. Or perform extractions (popping pimples) and use high frequency on you ( which is a machine that zaps your skin to kill bacteria and makes your pimples, blemishes, breakouts, an blackheads clear up) you just have to go with someone that definitely knows what they're doing. I wonder if you're from chicago. I'd say, come see me so I can help you out!

Also there's different kinds of facials. Just be sure to let the esthetician know your concerns with your skin. Have them analyze your skin, and to professionally recommend you a facial that would benefit you to help you out with some of your concerns.

I'm an Esthetician as well and Jessie is correct. Not only will it improve your skin but your Esthetician will properly be able to advise you on products and a skin care routine to further improve your skin. It is always usually a good time and definitely worth it!

The only time you shouldnt be getting a facial is during your period as your skin is different during that time and it can heal differently.

I do agree with the other Estheticians, a facial is a great way to detoxify your skin and high frequency because it's enriched oxygen will kill bacteria on the surface of your skin the only time I don't recommend one is if you have severe inflammatory acne, or are on Accutane, if you have deeply set nodules or cyst they should not be extracted because it can cause it to spread and should be done in a dermatologist office in which case if you still want a facial done just ask for with no extractions, a Esthetician that knows what there doing won't recommend extractions if your skin is beyond there scope of practice anyway.

Having your period is not a contraindication for a facial.

Yeah 100% agree with Traci!
