I read somewhere thAt using an oil based cleanser first before normal cleanser really helps to get all your makeup off. Is this true? I normally use simple brand cleansing wipes to remove face n eye makeup then use my cleanser.

I would try out coconut oil! :) I find that makeup removers with oils leaves a residue, but coconut oil doesn't as long as you wash it off with soap or a cleanser after :) just make sure its 100% natural

I use Dermalogica pre cleanse. I studied with dermalogica and love a lot of their products, but one I can't live without even working with many different brands since I graduated would be their precleanse. it is used as part of their 'double cleanse' and is used on all skin types to remove dirt, oil, debris, makeup, etc. then is followed up with the cleanser for your skin type and needs but I use this every night. like attracts like and therefore oil attracts oil. I always used makeup remover wipes before cleansing because it is important to remove everything or else your cleanser won't be as beneficial as it'll just be sitting on top of everything on your face. After I switched I realized how much it took off and how much was actually being left behind with just wipes and a cleanser. They sell it at ulta

I sent that before I meant to. I'm not sure of the retail price, but you truly need a tiny bit. I bought some pro sizes and finally gave some to friends because I'd never go through it all. it has apricot kernel oil, olive and kukui. you apply it to your face and massage it a little then add water and continue, it emulsifies and literally removes everything! I just used it to cleanse my full face of makeup. I do have their eye makeup remover which has silk amino acids in it, which is great it strengthens eyelashes but to be honest I hardly ever use it because the pre cleanse takes off my waterproof eyeliner, mascara and my toughest lip stains. it's safe around the eyes and does contain vitamin e oil. I think I've seem smaller bottles of it as well to try out, you truly need such a little amount for such great results! sorry for the rambling I was in between washing my face lol.

I agree with gabby, coconut oil works great for taking of all my make even waterproof mascara that I can't get off with makeup remover. Also there's no chemicals ect in it.

Thanks ladies! I will look into all these products. Sarah what you were saying about like attracts like with the oil is what similar to what I was reading about. I'll look into that product next time I hit ulta. Thanks!

Double cleansing using an oil...I've been doing it for awhile. I love it. Cancels out the use of makeup remover for the eyes. I follow up with a traditional cleanser though to remove any oil that remains so my serums have a chance to penetrate my pores versus sitting on top of an oil slick due to my oil cleanser.

I couldn't agree with you more Sarah. Such a huge difference in overall skin appearance and my serums are maximized to their fullest potential because of it.
