Yes that's essentially exactly what they are :) you need to exfoliate often, and products with salicylic acid seem to be effective as they remove dirt from the bottom up

Most likely, I agree on getting a facial. Those suckers are hard to remove no matter what you use and most products only affect the outermost layer ( Meaning its still there and may re appear ). I usually go for facials once a month as its easier to prevent than to keep throwing products and spending way more.

Those are called papules, little tiny pimples under your skin's surface. I reccomemd a facial or at home face masks :)
