I use the cleanser (skin smoothing exfoliator) at night and I like it it hasn't burned or irritated my skin at all although I know a lot of people hate proactive. But I've been using it on and off for five years and never had a problem. My skin doesn't go crazy and break out if I stop either. But thT may be bc I only use the cleanser the other stuff dried my skin out when I used it in combination.

Also the proactive plus is much better then the original in my opinion , it's more gentle

In general it tends to work best for teenagers, which is usually thicker and less sensitive. Older people and those with sensitive skin usually find it too harsh, drying and even burning.

Hated it. Irritated the crap out of my skin and they are always sending you more (which you pay for) I mean I guess thats fine but I was getting so much and I wasn't even out of my first set yet... The best thing I have done for my skin is getting a Clarisonic. I have actually ended up spending less money because I quit buying so much other skincare products because nothing was helping

I agree with the people above, it works for a little while (while causing irritation and redness and it even caused loads of dryness and flaking for me which is surprising because I have insanely oily skin). I hate proactive products with a passion, but it definitely clears up acne (for a little while).

It worked for a month or 2 then I developed cystic acne. Maybe it wasn't the face wash I don't know, but I switched and it went away. It was weird
