Hey beauties! For the past 6 months or so I've been using dermologica's clear start breakout clearing daytime treatment (that's a mouthful). Active ingredients are 2.5% benzoyl peroxide and niacinamide. It's worked well for clearing my acne but I'm interested in trying a new product. I don't really have acne anymore but I think I have some clogged pores on my nose/chin (if I pull the skin taut I can tell that there's white waxy/creamy stuff in the pores - sorry for the gross level of detail) that I'd like to get rid of. But I'm worried if I stop using this cream I might start breaking out again. I currently use this cream as a moisturizer for the day and as a treatment before my night moisturizer. My skin is on the dry side of normal. Any product recommendations?

I don't really understand what you mean with "waxy /creamy stuff"... I might be able to help more if I saw it, but only if you're comfortable with it.

It's too small to take a picture of with my phone camera. I can squeeze a white sebum/pus/something out of the pores on my nose/chin but it's not noticeable otherwise, if that makes sense?

My take is, why stop using the cream if it's working?
I think that what is in your pores is an acceptable amount of "debris". It doesn't sound bad.
Honestly I'd just keep using the Dermalogica since it's working:)
And I hope that someone more knowledgeable than me can help you, I'm not an expert. They might know of a good product for you :)

You're right it's definitely not a big deal. I may be going overboard trying to get "perfect" skin, haha.
Yeah, I've repurchased a few times since I know it works. I just worry that BP is harsh on skin and there might be something gentler I could use. But until I find something like that I'll definitely stick with this. Thanks for the help anyway!

You might want to try a chemical exfoliant to unclog your pores like a BHA or AHA exfoliant - I like the BHA exfoliant by paulas choice.

I've never been a big fan of benzoyl peroxide, I've seen it do a lot of good things to skin but also a lot of bad things to it as well. It totally destroyed the pores on my face after using it twice. My boyfriend used to get bad acne and although benzoyl peroxide would clear it up it also kind of burned his skin and it made it come back worse. He swears by going to get gentle facials at local spa. He also loves using African Black Soap as well as Arbonne FC5 Cleanser. It has made his skin amazing and he rarely gets acne anymore and Arbonne skincare is extremely gentle and good for your skin and doesn't fight skin problems with harsh chemicals.
