I love the look of lipstick but I have no idea what brands to buy, what colors would look best, or anything to do with liners or how to make it last. I am medium skin tone with blonde hair and blue eyes.

I like Mac lip products. Soar lip pencil and velvet teddy are a very good combo to try.

I love my brand names, but being more used to heavier makeup. If youre new to lipstick I would definitely try a good drug store brand, affordable! I would highly suggest nyx's matte lipsticks, they come in many shades and they apply beautifully! You can figure out which shades you like with out spending too much, and then can make your way up to higher brands!

I only got into lipstick at the end of last year. I started out with rimmel and wet n wild then moved to mac and I prefer my mac lipsticks and wet n wild ones :-)

I adore NYX lipsticks, I have over 20! They're very pigmented and long-lasting, they don't feel greasy either. I apply my lipsticks straight from the tube as opposed to faffing about with a lipbrush, I can never make them work for me.
My favourite NYX lippies are -
> Snow White (darker red)
> Sweet Prawn (a pinky-coral)
> Paris (my first ever one! A lilac pink)
> Fig (a bright yet subtle baby pink
> Power (a grey-toned lilac)
> Midnight Dinner (a darker red with pinky tones)
> Cancun Pink (a bright pink/purple)
> Extreme Red (a red with a slight hot pink tone)
> Spellbound (bright pink)
> Fire (a true phone box red)
I would also recommend the Too Faced 'Colour Bomb' lipsticks as they come in a longer tube and are very easy to apply. I have Eastwood Red, which is a gorgeously pigmented, long-lasting fire engine red. I also like BarryMs 'Genie' lipstick, which in the tube is green but it reacts with the natural melanin in your skin and turns your own shade of pink. It lasts a long time and is very pigmented.
My favourite lipliners are the NYX and BarryM lipliners as they aren't drying, are long-lasting, pigmented, don't feather and last a long time. They're also very cheap! I apply liner all over my lips straight from the pencil, following my natural lipline. I'm not one for overdrawing.

I'm going to go against the grain and say I really can't stand NYX lipsticks. I heard so many good things about them and was horribly disappointed. I got 6 shades and they were all unflattering and went on very unevenly. They were watery and sheer. The colors were garish and off. They also smell like laundry detergent.
I'm obsessed with Maybelline Color Sensationals. I have about 25 of them and only had 2 or 3 I wasn't in love with. The formula is great and they have so many color options. I have the entire Rebel Blooms line!
Their creamy mattes are to die for!! I wish they had more shades. They are so velvety soft and give such a good look.
I only got into lipstick a few months ago. Maybelline was the first brand I tried and I'm very content.
