I want to do a slick back bun hairstyle but have short hair in the front. What can I use to slick the hair back? I don't want to use gel or hairspray.

You could try a teasing brush. Since the bristles are so tiny and close together they slick back hair no pretty well with no product

(works great as Ramsha suggested...with a Teaser Brush. You just smooth with it, rather than tease. I have a Paul Mitchell one. Any beauty supply will have it. Pureology is at salons (unless you have a beauty supply pro card). I know Hair Cuttery had the line. The Pomade I dig is SuavecitA, but any brand that is as I described will work. I would finish with a flexible hold hairspray. I love Kendra brand. Ulta has it. Redken28 or Matrix are also great. Good luck!
