I use a round drier brush to dry my hair and curl my hair under before straightening.

When my hair was that short, I just flat ironed my ends inward everyday

Mine has done that on my left side only if my hair is shoulder length or shorter pretty much my whole life. I even had a pixie cut last year and as it grew out it started flipping out again. (I didn't get it cut to fix this issue, just wanted something different.) I once asked my stylist why it did that and she said it was just the way my hair grew. It's annoying but I try not to worry about it. Mine also resists the straightener. I gave up. Lol. Have you tried a round brush or just the straightener?

You could get an undercut to get it to curl under how you want they would only have to take about an inch or less off the ends.

My hair is doing the same thing. I vowed not to cut my hair for a year so I can't touch it till October. I'm going to try the flat iron and see if it works for me. Good luck with yours!

I don't know for sure but maybe the type of hair dictates how it behaves. Mine is dead straight Asian and coarse. It is short, just under ears, pixieish with bangs (very much like my avatar) but the back is just above collar and all hair lies dead straight. I use my G3 salon pro to put a curl in it not straighten it.

Mine does the same thing, I use a round brush, Kenra Stying Cream, and my blow dryer every time I wash my hair (3-4 times a week) once it's dry I hair spray my hair off in sections with the lowest hold strength hairspray I can fine and I am good to go until I shampoo again
