it's been that way for a long time, pretty much always, but I didn't realize that it's a problem, I just thought that everyone's hair was like that.

Thank you Hailey! I do use argan oil, and I have a deep moisturizing mask but I haven't used it in a while. it's shoulder length. over the summer (June I think) I cut it because of the same problem. I have awfully weak and thin hair, so I barely use heat, and I try very hard to not do anything to damage it but it always ends up breaking everywhere no matter what I do.

You probably need to trim it more often. Split ends will only get worse the longer you in between cuts, which means you'll have to get more length taken off because of the more damage. I agree with Hailey on the treatments and mask. Also make sure you are using sulfate free shampoo/conditioner, L'Oreals Ever- lines are awesome. When you do use heat I highly recommend Its a 10 Plus Keratin Leave In. Its also great even when you aren't using heat too. Expensive but a big bottle last me 4-5 months and thats with everyday use for my thick hair...

There's a few things that can help.
1) protein masks. Only use them once a week because, like Hailey said, it can become brittle with too often use. I like using a moisturizing conditioner everytime I shower and occasionally a moisturizing deep conditioner.
2) don't brush when wet! I recommend brushing before showering and if you absolutely must detangle when wet, use a wide toothed comb.
3) Always use a heat protectant when you use heat
4) A leave in conditioner or serum. I like the Organix Coconut Oil Anti-breakage serum. My hair gets weighed down and greasy very easily but this stuff doesn't do either! It smells lightly but very good. I also recommend trying the It's A 10 Leave in.
5) Try not to wash your hair everyday and when you do, don't use super hot or super cold water. It can strip it of all the moisture.
Sorry if this was long, hope something helped!

and Kayleigh, I do try to not brush my hair when it's wet, but it gets so tangled... a wide toothed comb is a great idea (:

Isabel, if brushing wet is,a concern, use a "Wet Brush", which is gentle and doesn't snag l while detangling beautifully. Reduces breakage and is perfect for blow out styles as well as for use on your dry, styled hair. They are about $8 Dollars in the states and available at most drugstores, Beauty supply stores or chain stores. Paired with Redken Anti-Snap or Pureology leave in for moisture and shine and you have a winning combo.

(I agree It's a 10 is good, but find I prefer other leave - ins better for my own needs.) It is a great product though. Sally has a dupe for less cash.
