I picked up the Loreal true match foundation today in W3 and I haven't tried it out yet, but would love to hear y'alls thoughts! Is it good for normal-dry skin? What's the best way to apply it? What's the coverage like?

So, I have a love/hate relationship with this foundation. I love it in the winter, hate it in the summer.

Love -
? The coverage is awesome, for my liking. Medium, but is builadable which is greeeat.
? The finish is like a satin, not too matte - not too dewy, which is my personal fave.
? color selection! It is so good. I found a perfect shade without having to mix, which is hard in drugstore.
? Reason why I love it in the winter is the air is dry so it actually stays on your face and looks good (I'll explain this in the hate lol)

Hate -
? Now I said I like the finish, BUT it never truly sets. Like, I can feel it on my face, which is kind of gross lol.
- It doesn't look natural, even when used sparingly. It looks like you're wearing makeup.
- In the summer, it separates...like becomes splotchy, probably from the humidity which is disgusting lol! And the feeling of it never "setting" is WAY more noticeable.

It is a very good foundation, but only works for me in the winter so that's the only time I'll buy it

Ohh and it oxidizes a lot.. which is another hate.

Thank you R T! That's good to know. Maybe I should go back and get a few shades lighter if it oxidizes a lot 😅

I have also had a problem with this foundation oxidising, all year round unfortunately! But I always hear others rave about it, think it just depends on your skin type, and it does nothing for my oily skin. Hopefully you fare better with normal-dry skin.

Thank you Lauren! I'm wearing it now so I'll just see what happens throughout the day. It did glide on really smoothly though 😌

I disliked the original formula however I love the new formula. It was reformulated recently with a new bottle too. I'm not sure which formula you have though. It has medium buildable coverage, long lasting, best applied with a sponge imo, great colour selection and blends very easily into the skin and has a semi matte finish. I have w3 which is my tan shade. I also have oily combo skin too.

We don't have that packaging in the US or at least everywhere I've traveled in the US. Mine comes in a small bottle packaging. So far, I've had it on for 5 hours and it hasn't seemed to oxidize of wear off. I'm pretty impressed. It does feel a little dry on my nose, but every foundation I've tried seems to just dry on my nose. The foundation doesn't feel wet or like it hasn't set completely which is a good sign and so far, I really like it. The only thing that's a little disappointing is I think W3 is slightly too dark for me, but if I blend of really well, it's not a huge deal.
