Do you have liquid foundation? You can used your hands. Just make sure it's clean before applying. You can watch vids on youtube too.

I'm 14 as well and recently threw out my beauty blender because it was getting gross and I personally only have 1 foundation brush and I don't really care for the way it applies my foundation. I like to use my fingers, but it is very important to have clean hands while doing so. You may also consider keeping a bottle of hand sanitizer and your vanity or wherever you do your makeup.

Kately you didnt need to throw it out probably just needed to wash it if you do purchase any sponges or brushes they must be washed on the occasional basis anywho fingers are great but when I was 14 I just went to the closest dollarama and got a bag of sponge wedges their cheap and great just remember to make them damp before applying you foundation hope I could help:)

Bella, over time sponges can grow bacteria and you shouldn't keep them too long. I kept mine for a while and though I didn't see mold, I washed it regularly (after every use) and it just didn't feel very sanitary in my opinion.

Katelyn, if you're worried about sanitizing your beauty blender you could always soak in in isopropyl alcohol for a few minutes. I've heard that beauty blenders are actually supposed to last for a long time. As long as you're drying them in a mesh bag or in open air you shouldn't have a problem with mold growing.

I think a good sense kabuki brush is great with any foundation whether it's liquid, powder or cream.
Preferably synthetic (I feel like natural bristles do sort of soak up product a bit) and just be sure it's dense.
I like the one from eco tools I think you can get the small kabuki brush in a lot for $12 or so and its super soft!
