How can I make my eyelashes not clump together and got slanted when I apply mascara?

Try focusing on the tips rather then from root to tip.
I usually just apply a few coats to the tips and then the last one I'll apply from root to tip

Try and blink while applying mascara bevause the wand goes through your eyelasges creating them to lengthen and separate.

Try to wipe the brush off before applying - I usually find clumps if there is excess product on the brush - you can use a paper towel or just scrap it on the top of the tube before applying it to your lashes and use short strokes to apply small amounts of product at a time then use a separate lash comb if necessary to get any clumps that may have tranferred.

I like to first curl my lashes because if I don't my lashes will look droopy and slanted. Then I like to start by focusing on the tips of my lashes to give length and then I will make sure to touch on the roots, but I don't want to focus too much at the roots because it weighs my eyelashes down throughout the day. If you are really looking for volume, roots are important. Just make sure you don't have clumps on your wand and use an eyelash separating comb so comb through them and remove any clumps you may have.

I wouldn't apply mascara on just the tips because it's hard to make them look full and long that way. I apply in a brushing morion from side to side, going up the lashes from root to tip. It's like you'll be brushing them, so they won't stick together.

I agree on wiping off excess mascara off the tip & the baseof the brush before applying. Also, maybe trying another mascara like the Clump Crusher. Also, I would apply at the base while slowly wiggling the brush through the lashes straight up, bending the lashes and holding the brush there for about 5 secs. and then brush through the tips. Then wipe off the the excess mascara off all of the brush and brush through again, wiggling through again, esp.through the tips.

In addition to the suggestions above, you could also use an eyelash comb.
