Why can't you use self tanners? Honestly, if you burn, there is nothing you can do to stop that. Sun tanning can eventually lead to skin cancer. I highly recommend self tanners. The most you can do is wear sunscreen, but if you struggle tanning, that's not going to change and you'll probably still burn. I know that's probably not what you want to hear, but if you put on any oil or anything made to help you tan better in the sun, you will probably get more burnt rather than tan.

Putting it bluntly, tanning is bad for you. Tanning oils fry your skin, sunbeds are bad due to the direct close-up contact of UV. Skin cancers, moles, sun spots, ageing, I could go on and on. You're much better investing in a good self-tanner. Why can't you self-tan? Truth be told, if the weather is bad the only way you're going to be getting a tan is by spray tan, self tanner or by a melanoma grill (sunbed). Some people just don't tan, especially if you have traditionally pale ancestors, such as German, Scandinavian, English, etc.

For example, I have Irish and Scottish ancestry. My brother is akin to a stick of chalk, and he goes red then white again. However, I tan easily. It's different for everyone. Some just don't tan.

What about you get your mum or dad to come with you, and they pick one out? I love Garnier gradual tanner in light as it never goes orange, it washes off and deepens gradually, never stains, etc. How old are you?

Okay, I know every parent is different but try sitting down with them, have a mature conversation about what you want. I love the Garnier gradual tanner and the Dove gradual tanner is good too, I'm seriously bad at fake tanning but I haven't made any mistakes with these! I know what you mean about the weather though, it's the same here in England.

That's okay! Just adding to my previous comments, why don't you go into your town or local shops with a friend and get your friend to buy some? You could use her as a model to show your parents what the tanners like, how it's applied, how it looks during application, messiness, price, how natural it looks, etc.

Sorry to spam your thread, but the Garnier gradual tanner is a moisturiser with self-tan. It comes out white and reacts to the natural pigmentation of your skin so it goes a more custom colour, therefore no orangeness! It smells gorgeous and contains apricot oil :) no digestive biscuit smell!

You can make your own self tanner by adding white cream to ground coffee and mixing or boiling 6 teabags of black tea and using it on your skin there are tons of tutorials on YouTube!:) XD.
