Any way I always wash my face with my clean and clear morning burst then I put on sunscreen and eye cream then a no oil and a daily moisturizer. You might be breaking out because your having a reaction to one of your products. Try using a moisturizer with spf in it, so you don't need to put on moisturizer and put on sunscreen. Also try the clean and clear acne spot treatment on all the breakouts. It helps them go away super fast.

Over the years I have figured out that most drugstore products just don't do it for me and I honestly think they caused more breakouts for me. I have wasted so much money on products that didn't work and I wished I would have tried higher end products sooner.
With that being said, I recommend Philosophy Clear Days Ahead, Murad, Ren, and Boscia cleansers. If you're worried about spending more money (which the products I listed range about $20-$40) you really aren't spending a lot more considering the products usually last longer than drugstore (I use my Philosophy everyday and I still have plenty left and I've had it for about 5 months now) and they are worth it because they work better than drugstore stuff in my opinion (and believe me if its drugstore, I have tried it hoping it would help my acne, and was always left disappointed...). As far as the other products you are using, I don't think you really need an eye cream because you look pretty young, and sometimes using products meant for aging can break younger skin types out (at least it did for me). But other than that I think your routine is great, just make sure you are always removing makeup at night and are washing your face after.
Don't get too stressed out about it though, I know its frustrating but most the time its stupid hormones that you can't control. If switching up cleansers doesn't work then you may try going to a dermatologist or consider getting a Clarisonic (which has tremendously improved my skin; I've had mine for 3 years and I wished I would have tried it sooner, especially when I had really bad acne).

It could be the cleanser is not working out for you / I would switch to a more simple cleanser like the cetaphil gentle skin cleanser and add an alcohol free toner to your routine (a witch hazel one preferably) and then you can spot treat with tea tree oil too that would be a nice addition - but breakouts happen for a number of reasons it could be hormonal or stress related or even good related (if you binged on junk food recently) or if you have food allergies (like dairy) it could be any number of things but if you really want to get to the root cause of the problem the best thing is to see your doctor and/or dermatologist and they can make better product recommendations based on your skin type and type of acne you have.

Oh my Gosh! Never put witch hazel or tea tree oil on your face. You are messing with the natural PH balance that your skin needs to be healthy and fight off infections (pimples). Skincare is five steps; exfoliate, cleanse, tone, moisturize and protect. This doesn't always mean your regimen will only be five steps, but sticking to that should keep your skin healthy and clear unless there are hormonal issues (which was my issue). By your picture, you look under 21. Which means your skin is still growing and maturing. Clean & clear might be too much for you. My daughter is 16 and she has clear skin as long as I stay on her with her routine.
Cleanser: Philosophy Purity
Toner: LUSH Breath Of Fresh Air
Moisturize & Protect: Simple Moisturizer with SPF for daytime (available at Walmart)
Moisturize for Night: Aveeno Smart Essentials Nighttime Moisture Infusion
Simple Skincare Brand is a good place to start and it's inexpensive. You can try things at Sephora once your skin is back to its normal state. I do have a post on my blog if anyone is interested in the five steps to clear skin.

Oh, I got her the original Clarisonic Mia for exfoliating. She has dry skin so she only uses it once a day or every other day depending on what her skin is doing. She's also been trying fresh face masks from LUSH but we haven't found one she really likes.

I use witch hazel and tea tree oil every day and it has done nothing but help my pimples to heal faster... Granted they are not pure formulas they are premade bought from the drugstore but if pH is your argument then why is it ok to use cleansers that are usually on a 9+ on the pH scale? Or even water had pH of 7 but our skin has pH of 4-5 so by your argument even using water is "messing with our skins pH" I'm sorry makaela but it's ultimately up to you whatever you decide to use on your face but don't let reasons that are not backed by science or research like "x product will mess with skins pH" shy you away from trying new things that may or may not help you - all we can do is give advice and it's all trial and error with skincare - witch hazel and tea tree oil work great for me but it may or may not work well for you - but that comes with using any skincare products out there - in any case I do hope you find something that works for you :)

I use tea tree oil for my piercings when they have hypertrophic scarring which is like a pimple but without the gross stuff inside. I'm not a scientist so I can give you numbers on a scale. I have suffered with cystic acne since middle school. It wasn't until I got older that I was able to seek care once I got married (my husband was in the Marines & all healthcare was free). I also have a friend that studied dermatology but decided instead to teach. She, as well as the doctors and seminars I've gone to, have always told me not to use witch hazel or tea tree oil and other oils in a skincare regimen. I can't say what worked for me will work for you. The suggestions were just that...suggestions. But I stand firm with the five steps. What products each one uses is based on their skin type, texture and issues.

My friend states that cleansers do make your PH unbalanced but toners balance it back out. She said some other stuff that I don't care to type because I can't spell all those words. Lol.

Hi Tamara, does Philosophy cleanser are good? I been seeing a lots of good comments about this brand.

Some breakouts really can't be fixed. You look young, so I would assume it's hormonal acne. This can also happen right before your menstrual cycle. You will get hormonal acne no matter how often you wash your face, however you can prevent large pimples by using the beauty routine that Tamara stated.
Be careful of what goes on your face. Too many products can injure your skin making it even more prone to acne.
So, refrain from popping zits! As tempting as it is, DO NOT. It can break inside of your skin and push bacteria even farther down making the problem worse!
Good luck 💕 xoxo

Hi Julie! I think Philosophy Purity is the best cleanser I have ever tried and I've tried a lot. I've been using Purity for at least a year now. I tried the gel formula since I have oily skin, but it was too drying. I also tried the microdelivery exfoliating wash, which also caused my skin to be really dry. But everyone is different. So I would suggest you try one of those deluxe samples sizes to see if you like it.

I completely agree with Mimi, especially on popping pimples. I still have trouble keeping myself from doing it from time to time.
