I want to ombre my hair to a lavender/lilac color (like in the picture) but I'm not sure what to use. I've heard mixed things.
And I'm not sure what color it will fade to. All help appreciated!!

I wouldn't personally ombre anything myself. It's a skill and I've seen even "pros" mess it up. Pastels do fade quite quickly and so upkeep is high. I l'd hit up Foursquare and Yelp for reviews and photos to find a reputable salon.

When I had lilac hair I prelightened it to a light ash blonde, and used Directions semi permanent veggie dye mixed with a plain white conditioner and it came out pretty much that exact colour.

Not the best photo but it's the only one I have, and it's a pretty true representation of the colour.

I do same as Ellie K did. I use ion color brights ( very long lasting), but wouldn't do an ombre on my self.

I had mine done professionally, I only washed it every 3rd day with a sulfate free shampoo and in freezing cold water- that kept the color vibrant for almost 6 weeks! It faded nicely to a light icy lilac color, at the end it almost looked like an extremely cool toned blonde.

This is the day I got it done.

You could always test the water with something a little less permanent I'll post a picture of a product that is a washout color so you can see if you like it and go more permanent and if not it's no big loss.
