It looks like you're applying way too much and it may not be the best shade for you, it's hard to tell in the picture. What bronzer and brush are you using right now?

I'm using elf bronzer & the brush just came in this kit with a bunch of others so it doesn't really have a name that I know of

Yeah, it looks like you applied too much & didn't blend it in at all so it looks muddy. I would suggest starting with less & you can always build it up 😊 I just use a bronzer brush from sephora... it really shouldn't matter which one you use. I use the "3" technique, so I just start applying on my cheekbones then blend up into my temple & then back down to my jawline so it makes the number 3 motion :)

I agree with the ladies above. it looks like you put too much, and the shade looks a bit to orangey/muddy ( hard to say from the picture, but it's not your color ). the color may just look that way because of how much you are putting one. as cady said, start small. this rule applies for any kind of powder. the '3' technique works well, and it makes it a lot easier. but please make sure to start with some product, and work your way up. and when you are doing your cheekbones, make sure you go under them, and not on top or over them. work as close to the hairline as possible for the temples/forehead, and for the jaw, just make sure you're working it right under your jawline. and make sure to blend it out so there are no harsh lines. good luck! :)

Do you apply bronzer as a product to contour with?
That's might be the reason it is appearing too muddy looking. If you want to contour with a bronzer look for a cool toned matte bronzer.

Apply little by little

Do you powder before you apply bronzer/contour powder? That may also be part of the problem. If you don't, the bronzer will adhere to the foundation and make it much harder to blend.
