I have had dandruff for a while and it's really annoying me. I have tea tree oil but I have no idea how to use it to get rid of the dandruff.. Any ideas that are okay to use on oily, dyed hair? Thanks!

Mix it in with your regular shampoo or look up a recipe for a hair mask.

I try to avoid oils, because my hair is curly and it's a mess when it's oily. But have you tried only washing your hair with cold water?

Tea tree doesn't make your hair oily it has antiseptic qualities that kill the bacteria that causes dandruff. It will actually dry your hair out a little as well not cause oil.

I use apple cider vinegar. It balances my scalps pH. Mix equal parts of water with vinegar. Shampoo your hair, rinse it out, then apply the vinegar on you scalp and massage it, leave it on a few minutes, rinse it out and apply conditioner as usual. Hopefully that helps. You can do it twice a week of it's really bad.

My boyfriend has the same problem and it's really bad. I did some research and it said that dandruff is a type of fungus. So it could be dandruff, extremely dry scalp, or psoriasis. In his case it's psoriasis or extremely dry scalp, but I'm not sure because he used to have psoriasis on his arms. I'm in the process of exfoliating his whole head then using tea tree essential oil and some others. Hope this helps.
