I use to have my hair long it was below my bra and never had problem with greasy hair. Ever since I cut it about two weeks ago it gets greasy by the second day the longest layer now is by my shoulder. I haven't changed anything what do you think it's causing it to do that?

Are you wearing your hair down more since you cut it? When my hair is just styled I wear it down more and find it gets greasier quicker because I'm probably touching it more often without realising?

Yes I do wear it down, that might be it.

I have naturally greasy hair, and while I haven't found a perfect solution, I have found something that helps. When I'm washing my hair, I only condition my ends. That's actually a trick I learned here on Beautylish!

Thank you Jackie for sharing that.

I agree with Jackie - also try using a clarifying shampoo once a week and also washing your hair less often helps - I wash my hair about 2-3 times a week and in between wash days it doesn't get greasy - but on the day I usually wash my hair it starts to get greasy but usually a dry shampoo is good enough to deal with it until it gets washed - also don't put any styling products for moisture on your scalp (they work kinda like the conditioner so just use them on your ends)

Thanks Diana I will look into buying a clarifying shampoo.

Your hair probably was absorbing those oils with the longer hair but since it's not as long maybe your scalp is still producing oil like it needed for your long hair. Just a guess. Dry shampoo or texturizing spray might become your best friend for a while until your scalp adjusts... Again I'm no expert just a guess.
