I've been using a knock off beauty blender for a while and I used to like it a lot and I really liked the look it gave me. But after awhile I realized that I never got the coverage I wanted and I would pile on my foundation but that only made my skin look cakey. I'm thinking that the water inside the beauty blender is just soaking up my foundation and I'm just wasting the product. I heard that the original beauty blender is a lot better?? Is it worth buying??

I don't think so. The real technique sponge does the same exact thing for like $6. Jaclyn hill and manny mua both say they like it better than the beauty blender!

+1 on the Real Techniques. I love it maybe more than my Beauty Blender. It's the ONLY knockoff that is worth the time or money, imo. If you are looking for a full coverage, brushes will probably do it best, but I use mine to perfect it afterwards.

I owned a beauty blender and I found it to be too fragile. I personally use 100% pure makeup blender it looks the same but it's 13 dollars.

Sorry, lol pressed send too quick. What I meant by fragile was that it didn't really survive cleaning and regular use. Bits and pieces just started tearing apart and for the price I thought it was a bit ridiculous

The same thing happens to all of my beauty blenders.. Little pieces start to tear off. I really want to try the real techniques one.

I use the real techniques one about a year now? I wouldn't use anything else. The original isn't available here in Ireland but I would have no intentions of using the more expensive, same quality version if it was.

No... I have tried it over and over using different techniques and I still don't understand the hype. I've tried dupes and didn't notice any difference, way too much hype...

Are you wetting it enough? I think the point is that the wetter it is, the less makeup out absorbs.

What foundation are you using?
I've been using a beauty blender for about 6 months with anything that's a "high coverage" for me and have no problems with it. But it does sheer out the product a bit, hence why I like it so much.

If you want to add coverage I would just use a stippling brush to add more coverage on the areas needed. When I apply my foundation, I keep it really light and only stipple more where need to be. Buying the original beauty blender won't solve the coverage issue.

I like the real techniques one but honestly I still prefer the beauty blender. For me, it really is worth it!

Yes. Yes. Yes. It blends foundation flawlessly. Sometimes I try and change it up and use my brush, and I'm just like, "why?" midway through.

Personally I love it, but people who don't usually like it, tend to forget to keep it damp. Otherwise you're using a dry sponge which will absorb more than it will apply.
