Hey! I was wondering if anyone used Korean skincare/makeup products like I do. I've been using it for 4-5 years now, and I'm Chinese/Korean. It suits my skin much, much better. If anyone uses Korean skincare/makeup too, let's talk about it! Also, any animal cruelty free beauty products would be lovely (I'm a vegan (3 years)).

That's so cool that you like Korean products! Wow, they've already featured in Sephora already?! I never knew that! My favourite brands are Too Cool For School, Hera, The Saem, Nature Republic, and Innisfree :)

Well I know for sure Korean and Chinese beauty products are FAR from cruelty free... In fact all Chinese products REQUIRE animal testing for EVERYTHING - so I'm not sure why you would say you are interested in cruelty free brands but then support obviously non-cruelty free brands - most of the leaping bunny brands that I'm a fan of are skincare based - so Alba botanica and the yes to lines - other ones that are good are lush and other European brands where in Europe they have banned animal testing - for vegan brands I know OCC liptars are vegan and juice beauty is organic but I'm sure if you just do a quick Google search you can find more.

Sadly yes, many Korean brands I've heard of do animal testing, and it's MANDATORY in China to do animal testing. I do know that some Korean brands do not test on animals though (I forgot which ones, but it's positive that Innisfree does not test on animals). I do like these Korean cosmetics, yes, but I'm slowly transitioning to non-animal testing brands, so please don't assume that I'm still going to be using them. Once I'm older I plan to go makeup free, once my acne scars have healed.

Gotcha - I didn't mean any harm or disrespect I was just curious as to why you wanted to go cruelty free when it seemed like you supported brands that were clearly not cruelty free - but to each their own and I'm sorry if I came off harsh that was not my intention - but your right there are a few Korean brands that do not animal test - and there is a website with them listed on animalrightskorea.org so I think if you stick to those brands then it will get you on the path to more cruelty free brands.

Thanks! It's alright; I'm sorry I misunderstood, I see you are very passionate about cruelty-free makeup and skincare :) and thanks for the website! I'm in a Korean international school, and I'm returning to Canada in a few months so I wanted to know if there were any cruelty-free brands (western). Sometimes I can't get cruelty-free products because I have to order them online so it costs quite a lot more :(

I only use korean skincare products. Korea is 10-15 years ahead of us when it comes to skincare, and I can really tell the difference. As a (huge) plus, its also a lot cheaper, yay!

I use herbday 365 cleansing foam, etitude house pure water baobab moisturizing toner, skinfood Fresh Apple pore emulsion and mizon collagen power lifting eyecream. I also use tonymoly silky smooth balm, which is a primer and elizavecca milky piggy bubble clay mask. The last one I use about once a week, and it helps getting the dirt out of your pores. Very deep cleansing.

Any suggestions for a good BB Cream? My foundation doesn't match me anymore and I want to try a BB Cream, especially since I'm eyeballing a few skincare products.
